Michael Collins Ajereh might not be as popular as don baba jah or don jazzy but yes, that is his real name. Baba nah has been in the industry long enough to be know as the boss, now he owns mavins after mohit.
Ajereh’s family moved to Ajegunle, Lagos, where Don Jazzy grew up. He was educated at Federal Government College Lagos. Don Jazzy became interested in music at a young age and at the age of 12, he started playing the bass guitar. He also acquired knowledge of traditional instruments and musical instruments. Don Jazzy attended Ambrose alli uni after gaining admission they, he even studied business management.
In 2000, Don Jazzy moved to London. His uncle had announced that he would play drums for the local church. In London, Don Jazzy got a job at McDonald’s as a security guard. He continued his interest in music, which included Solek, JJC, Kas, The 419 Squad and D’Banj.

In 2011, Don Jazzy was hired by Kanye West as a producer at Very Good Beatz. Don Jazzy has worked with Jay-Z and Kanye West on the production of Lift Off, which includes Beyoncé on the album Watch The Throne which was released on August 8, 2011.
In March 2012, Don Jazzy and D’Banj confirmed their differences that show a difference in the arts.
On May 7, 2012, Ajereh announced a new record label, Mavin Record. Ajereh said, “I see Mavin Records as the music scene in Africa in a very short time.” On May 8, 2012, he released an album featuring artists signing his own label. Songs on the album include: Amarachi, Forever, Oma Ga, Take Bananas and Chocolate, YOLO and the song I AM VIVA. Mavin Records have signed vocalist, Tiwa Savage. Ajereh created a social media platform called “Marvin League” to help and maintain his label.
At the 2015 Headies Awards, Ajereh competed against Olamide. The two disagreed on who should receive the “Next Rated” award. Lil Kesh of YBNL records lost to Rekado Banks, Ajereh singer. The winner got the car. Requests from both sides were submitted afterwards.
