How To Make Soya Milk

Ingredients Needed

(400ml soya bean milk)

1. 1 cup soya beans
2. 1 gallon of water
3. Optional flavour of choice
4. Sugar (taste)
5. Honey (taste)

Equipment Needed

1. Deep pot about 8 quart
2. Second clean pot
3. Blender
4. Sieve
5. Pressing clothes or sack

Instruction For Preparation

Step 1. Remove any discoloured beans and stones, and sock overnight or about 8 to 10 hours by pouring a generous amount of water, about twice the size of the beans. Pour out the water and add fresh water after about 8 to 10 hours of socking, then pill off the coat by washing the beans, similar to moi moi.

Step 2. Get your blender ready for grinding the soya beans, pour the soya beans into the blender with about 1 to 2 cup of water and let it blend to your satisfaction of smoothness.

Step 3. Next, you get your pot and transfer your blended soya beans into the pot with about 3 to 4 cups of water and allow to boil. You then reduce the heat and stir constantly to avoid it burning when it starts boiling, and leave it to simmer for 30 to 35 minutes, the longer it stays the better it get.

You can add your vanilla flavour at this point and let it cool or not, it is absolutely optional. I’d advice you use it as it gives your soya milk better taste and smell. Thank me later in the comments section.

Step 4. At this point, you need to get a clothe and pour the paste and tightly closed for twisting. Gently press down or squeeze the cloth to extract all the milk from the paste, after pouring the milky paste.

After sieving you’d be left with the okara( remnant of the beans ), and of course your soya beans milk.

Step 5. This is where the second pressing is done. You need to pour about 1 or half cup of boiled water into the paste in the cloth, you stir for another while and press again by twisting the clothes closed until more milk left to extract. And now it ready for drinking.

Step 6. Sweeten the soya milk to your tastes either with sugar or honey, Finally serve with a diet or snack.
